An International fleet of 7 tall ships is due to arrive in Hobart this Friday 20th September. The ships are expected, depending on the wind, at anytime between 10am – 12 noon.
The five-day Tall Ships program will kick off with the arrival of the ships on Friday along with a fireworks display that night.
Ships can be viewed from Saturday – Tuesday 10am – 8pm with entertainment, food and wine as well as maritime exhibitions and activities taking place at Princes Wharf No 1, Parliament House lawns, Macquaire wharf, Franklin wharf and Princes wharf. Some ships will also be offering ticketed sailings. Tickets are available at the counter in Princes Wharf No 1.
On Wednesday the ships depart for Sydney with opportunities along the Derwent River to see them in full sail.
With the rain hopefully easing by the weekend it will be a great opportunity to head down to Hobart’s Waterfront and enjoy the festivities.
