DARK MOFO kicked off last week with Ryoji Ikeda’s Spectra, a group of 49 Xenon searchlights lighting up the Hobart skyline from the Hobart Regatta Grounds. Reaching 15 kilometres into the sky it can be seen from all around Hobart – a big hit with the kids. Spectra continues through to Saturday 22nd June. Staff experienced “Beam in Thine Own Eye” at Mac 1 on Saturday well worth visiting with only a $5 entry fee. The line-up for Zee is worth the wait. If it’s cold pop into the Rekorderlig Cider Winter Forest bar where a hot cider will certainly warm you up. Continuing this week are various films each night at the State Cinema, The Red Queen exhibit opens at Mona on Tuesday from 6pm with free entry until midnight. The Winter Feast starts on Thursday night at Princess Wharf 1 which we are all very excited about, with renown chef Christine Manfield there on Friday night with demonstrations and the chance to taste her cooking. With so many more things to see and do take a look at www.darkmofo.net.au for all festival details, times and prices. DARK MOFO finishes on Sunday 23rd June with us already looking forward to next year. Grosvenor Court Apartments is only a short 20 minute walk to PW1, Mac1 & Mac2 so if you are still looking for accommodation take a look at our website where we still have a few vacancies available until Sunday 14th June. www.grosvenorcourtapartments.com.au
